Spurs started the season strong with just one defeat in their initial nine outings. However, recent setbacks have seen them stumble twice in four matches, slipping out of the coveted Champions League spots behind Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Burnley nipping at their heels.

While there was a faint hope of a title challenge at the start of the campaign, that hope dims with each point dropped.

“We need to believe and try to win games. If we don’t win against Leicester, staying in the title race is tough,” Spurs’ boss Mauricio Pochettino candidly shared in his pre-match talk.

“Manchester City have surged ahead with remarkable improvement. The gap is huge, but we’re ready to see how things unfold.”

On the flip side, Leicester has struggled, securing just three wins this season and sitting 12th on the table.

After a rocky start, victories against Swansea and Everton brought some much-needed relief, though their recent form includes two draws and a loss in three games.

With the relegation zone looming only five teams away, another poor result could push them perilously close to the drop.

Leicester’s manager Claude Puel is eager for the challenge against one of the league’s top contenders following a 2-0 loss to Manchester City and a 1-1 draw versus West Ham.

“Tottenham is a strong team with quality players everywhere on the pitch,” said Puel.

“We want to play our game and see our progress under pressure against this outstanding opponent. It’s an exciting test for us.”

Team updates reveal that hosts Leicester will be missing defender Robert Huth and midfielder Matty James until early December due to injuries.

Tottenham will be without defender Toby Alderweireld and midfielder Victor Wanyama, both sidelined with muscle issues and expected to return around the New Year.
