PGA Tour: Hero World Challenge – Exciting Preview & Betting Tips | Hollywoodbets Sports Blog

Golfer lines up shot

This week, from 30 November to 3 December, the much-anticipated Hero World Challenge tees off in the stunning Bahamas.

There’s no doubt the return of Tiger Woods to competitive golf overshadows everything else this week. Jordan Spieth might even clinch the title with an incredible score like -40 but could easily fly under the radar if Tiger faces any setbacks. Such is the legend of golf’s most iconic figure.

This exclusive, invite-only event features 18 of the sport’s finest players playing at the spectacular Ernie Els-designed Albany Course in the Bahamas – a venue Tiger played at last year. Interestingly, despite blasting the most birdies, Tiger only managed to finish ahead of two competitors.

The Hero World Challenge | 30 November – 3 December | Albany, New Province, Bahamas

First held in 1999 at Greyhawk Golf Club, the Hero World Challenge moved to Sherwood Country Club in 2000 where it stayed for 14 years. It relocated to the Bahamas three years ago, and this will be the third consecutive year on this course. Although a hefty 7,400 yards, its five par fives balance the length. This exposed, flat links-style layout is characterised by towering dunes up to 30 feet high. Ernie Els envisions it as a blend of Royal Birkdale and Royal Melbourne.

We’re eager to see how Tiger Woods performs. Jason Day claims he’s striking the ball beautifully, but we’ve heard this kind of chatter before. Hideki Matsuyama, the defending champion, aims to bounce back after a slow end to last season. With talents like Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, and Zach Johnson also competing, it’ll take a stellar effort to retain the crown. While we hope Tiger’s comeback is successful, even if not, the world’s current top golfers won’t be overshadowed.

Brooks Koepka — To Win 9/1, To Place 16/10
The reigning US Open Champion is a strong contender given his excellent current form and the small elite field. Known for his long drives, he should thrive on the par fives. Koepka recently tied for second at the WGC HSBC before winning in Japan. Although his course history here isn’t outstanding, this season has been groundbreaking for him, and the course suits his game.

Kevin Kisner — To Win 22/1, To Place 39/10
Known as the ‘Georgia Bulldog’, Kisner is making his event debut and could be a fantastic value bet. The course’s seaside location and potential wind conditions could benefit his pinpoint accuracy and skill on Bermuda grass greens. Motivated by a Ryder Cup spot after a strong Presidents Cup performance, Kisner’s steady play makes him a dark horse.

Charley Hoffman — To Win 33/1, To Place 59/10
The ever-mysterious Hoffman has shed some of his unpredictability lately with a consistent season, including six top-20 finishes and reaching a career-best world ranking of 20. His expert scrambling ability should serve him well on this course.

The Man to Beat — Hideki Matsuyama — To Win 11/1, To Place 39/10
The defending champ dominated last season with his raw power, especially on the par fives. His odds are attractive after a slight dip late last season. Matsuyama’s seven top-10 finishes, including two wins and two seconds, underline his quality. Despite disappointment at the PGA, he returns to a course he mastered the previous year.
