After a challenging 10-game winless streak in the Premier League, West Brom decided to part ways with Tony Pulis, leaving the managerial position open for over a week. Alan Pardew confirmed over the weekend that discussions with West Brom have taken place, and it now looks set that the 56-year-old will take charge of the team’s fortunes at The Hawthorns.

Sources suggest Pardew is poised to sign a contract lasting two and a half years, bringing hope and experience to the club.

Interestingly, Pardew shares a past connection with West Brom’s technical director, Nick Hammond, making this appointment a potentially strong partnership. In an ironic twist, Pardew could face his former club, Crystal Palace, in his first game as manager this Saturday.

Meanwhile, caretaker manager Gary Megson has overseen two draws in his short tenure, including a dramatic 2-2 comeback against Newcastle, where West Brom squandered a two-goal lead on Tuesday.

Despite all the rumours about Pardew’s appointment, Megson claims to be unaware of any final decisions. He said, “The chairman [John Williams] has come down as he always does and said he wants to have a natter at 10am tomorrow, so I will tell you the truth about what he said and that is it and as far as I know.”
