Conte was shown the red card right before half-time at Stamford Bridge after an intense protest to referee Swarbrick about several debatable calls on the field.

The Italian manager was frustrated with Swansea’s perceived time-wasting tactics early in the match. Despite the tension during the game, Conte showed sportsmanship by offering an apology after Chelsea secured the 3 points.

“After the game, I think it’s only natural and appropriate to apologise for what occurred on the pitch,” Conte stated.

“During the first half, I noticed Swansea were deliberately wasting time. I made this clear to the fourth official multiple times,” he added.

“Nothing changed in the first half, which frustrated me. I tried to speak up again, but the referee then made his decision,” Conte explained.

“I want to reiterate my apology; I was frustrated and admit it was a mistake. Experiencing setbacks with my players is tough. It’s unfortunate how it unfolded.”

“I voiced my concerns loudly about the time-wasting. It wasn’t the first time and probably led to the fourth official losing his patience. However, I take full responsibility, not the officials. Again, I apologise for my actions,” Conte concluded.

Antonio Rudiger’s decisive goal was enough to overcome a struggling Swansea side, pushing Chelsea to a six-match unbeaten streak in the Premier League.

Conte reflected on the season’s challenges, saying, “We kicked off this season facing numerous problems. Now, we are working hard to overcome them and improve steadily.”

“We’re experimenting with new playing systems, and I appreciate having options to switch tactics when needed,” he said.
