Cape Town City has released striker Lehlohonolo Majoro six months before his contract was due to expire.
The talented former striker, who has proudly represented AmaZulu, Kaizer Chiefs, and Orlando Pirates, spent a memorable season and a half with Cape Town City. During his time there, he scored 11 goals in 41 appearances and was instrumental in the club’s triumphant 2016 Telkom Knockout campaign.
Despite featuring in 10 matches this season, Majoro has unfortunately slipped out of the starting lineup and missed the final games of the year, signalling a change in the club’s plans.
“As one of the founding members, Major will always hold a special place in our hearts,” the club stated.
“He embraced the club like family and truly embodied what it means to be a Cape Town City player.”
“With his contract nearing its end, we felt it was best to support Major in finding a new club where he can extend his career and enjoy more game time. We welcome his return to Cape Town football in the future and wish him all the very best for his journey ahead.”
At 31 years old, Lehlohonolo Majoro is now free to sign with any club of his choosing. We wish him the very best as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his football career.
