The buzz is building as rumours circulate that Mamelodi Sundowns are ready to secure the signature of SuperSport United striker Jeremy Brockie this Monday, 15 January.
The New Zealand star has been a sought-after prospect for Sundowns’ coach Pitso Mosimane since even before the current season kicked off.
Despite his early promise, Brockie’s goal-scoring form with Matsatsantsa has dried up in recent months. Recently, the Pretoria club acknowledged he might be on his way out, and notably, Brockie was left out of Sunday’s league clash against Golden Arrows, which ended in a narrow 0-1 loss.
Sources told the Citizen early Monday that the transfer could be finalised at any moment.
“SuperSport gave him Sunday off to finalise talks with Sundowns. Personal terms are already agreed upon; now it’s just between the clubs to settle on the transfer fee,” the source revealed.
Time is of the essence for the Brazilians, as they must complete Brockie’s registration swiftly to have him eligible for the CAF Champions League — with the registration window closing today, Monday 15 January.
