The Proteas selectors have named an exciting South African A squad to face off against Australia in a tour match at Sahara Park Willowmoore in Benoni from 22 to 24 February.
Leading the charge as captain is Khaya Zondo. This is a big moment as the Cape Cobras duo of Pieter Malan and Zubayr Hamza, along with Dolphins allrounder Senuran Muthusamy, are stepping up to this level for the very first time.
According to Proteas selection convenor Linda Zondi, “With no franchise cricket on the cards that weekend, this match offers a fantastic opportunity for fringe players to showcase their skills against top-notch opposition.”
This match serves as Australia’s sole warm-up game ahead of the thrilling four-match Test series kicking off in Durban on 1 March.
