The Growth of New York Tribal Casinos

The Oneida Indian Nation is one of three federally recognized tribes in upstate New York holding Class III gaming compacts that allow them to operate traditional slot machines and conduct live dealer table games, along with offering in-person sports betting. The other tribes include the Seneca and Cayuga nations.

As part of expanding its offerings, Point Place Casino boasts a total of 900 slot machines. In comparison, the Oneida’s Turning Stone Resort Casino features 2,000 slot machines, 66 table games, a bingo hall, New York’s largest poker room, and a sportsbook. Guests can also enjoy over 1,000 hotel rooms, an array of more than 20 restaurants and bars, along with extensive wedding and convention venues, a concert hub, a spa and fitness complex, and 54 holes of championship golf.

According to the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC), tribal casinos in the East Coast segment reported a remarkable gross gaming revenue increase of 11.2% in the 2024 fiscal year, exceeding $10.2 billion.

This major expansion at Point Place Casino not only showcases the casino’s commitment to providing an exceptional gaming experience but also highlights the flourishing state of tribal gaming in New York.

Summary: Point Place Casino is gearing up for an exciting transformation with the first phase of its $50 million renovation, adding new gaming options, dining facilities, and improved amenities. The future plans include an on-site hotel and additional entertainment venues, promising guests an unforgettable experience on Oneida Lake.
