Chelsea’s head coach, Antonio Conte, has been slapped with a fine by the Football Association after his red card incident during their hard-fought 1-0 victory over Swansea last week.
The fiery Italian was shown to the stands by referee Neil Swarbrick shortly before the half-time whistle at Stamford Bridge after a heated exchange with the fourth official.
Conte was adamant that Swansea were deliberately wasting time in the first half and expressed his frustrations directly to Lee Mason on the sideline.
At that point, the game remained goalless, but Chelsea managed to break the deadlock through Antonio Rudiger just ten minutes into the second half.
Although Conte later apologised for his conduct, the FA proceeded with charges and has since issued him a fine of £8,000.
