Chippa United have ramped up their squad with some exciting signings: Mxolisi Macuphu, Linda Mntambo, Nkosinathi Mthiyane, alongside Thabo Rakhale, bringing fresh energy to the team.
Thabo Rakhale made his move recently from Orlando Pirates, while the Buccaneers welcomed full-backs Phetso Mphanga and Diamond Thopola.
On Thursday, the Eastern Cape club also confirmed the arrival of three more players: talented goal-scoring midfielders Macuphu and Mntambo from the second-tier Jomo Cosmos, and the versatile Mthiyane, who returns to Chippa United after his stint with Pirates.
The club’s chairman, Siviwe Mpengesi, is hopeful these additions will seriously enhance the team’s performance this season.
“The signing of these four players clearly shows where our ambitions lie for the season,” said Mpengesi. “We aim to solidify our spot at the top and compete in continental football next year.
Thabo Rakhale embodies the spirit of Chippa United and will bring flair and goals. We’re thrilled to have Nkosinathi Mthiyane back, a player who knows the club’s culture and is ready to reignite his career.

Furthermore, Chippa United have welcomed back their former head coach, Roger Sikhakhane, who will serve as Technical Adviser and assistant to head coach Teboho Moloi.
