Our football writer previews the English Football League Championship round 32 action which kicks off on Friday 16 February 2018.

Round 31 was a mixed bag with seven correct predictions out of 12, despite a couple of my top picks missing the mark and costing a bit. Still, I’m buzzing and confident ahead of this weekend’s fixtures. Let’s dive into the exciting round 32 clashes!

Saturday afternoon sees Birmingham hosting Millwall at St. Andrew’s. After a tough 2-0 loss to rivals Aston Villa, Birmingham is eager to bounce back following two consecutive wins. Meanwhile, Millwall boasts an unbeaten run of five games, including two wins away. With current form, backing Millwall on the Win/Draw Double Chance at 9/20 looks a solid shout.

QPR have stumbled recently with three defeats in their last four games but showed spirit against Wolves in a tight 2-1 loss. Bolton, unbeaten in their last three, struggle on the road with just one win in 14 away matches. QPR hold the edge at Loftus Road with wins in their last two clashes versus Bolton. Backing a home win looks the smart move here.

Fulham and Aston Villa, the two hottest teams right now, face-off in what promises to be a tactical delight. Fulham is unbeaten in nine with seven wins, scoring 16 and conceding only two at home. Aston Villa is on a stunning seven-game winning streak. Expect a cautious clash with the Under 2.5 Goals market tipped at 17/20.

Sunderland’s last match was a thrilling 3-3 draw against Bristol City. At home, their form is shaky with only two wins in 15 matches. Brentford is battling but still aiming for the play-offs. Expect an end-to-end game — the Over 2.5 Goals market at 8/10 is our pick.

Burton Albion is struggling without a home win in 11 games, suffering 10 defeats. Nottingham has lost their last three games, conceding seven without reply. A low-scoring match with Under 2.5 Goals at 6/10 seems likely.

Preston remains unbeaten in their past five while Wolves are flying high with three straight wins. Preston’s inconsistency at home could be costly against the top-table Wolves, who hold the best away record in the league. Backing an away win is the call here.

Fourth-placed Cardiff is unbeaten in four matches and boasts four wins at home, including a standout 4-0 over Sunderland. Middlesbrough has won three of their last four away games with a recent 2-1 home win against Reading. Both Teams to Score – Yes – is our tip at 19/20.

Norwich have had trouble keeping momentum at home but earned a solid 1-1 draw last time out. Ipswich’s recent form is disappointing with a goalless draw versus Burton. Norwich has the advantage, having won four of the last five home meetings against Ipswich. A home win is our confident call.

Leeds is struggling, winless in seven with five defeats. Bristol City is yet to win away in their last four but has been the stronger side this season. Leeds bombed Bristol City 3-0 in the earlier fixture, but now the visitors are tipped to take their revenge and claim all three points. Bristol City to win is our pick.
