In an electrifying announcement on Monday 18 December, Kaizer Chiefs officially confirmed the signing of the dynamic Mamelodi Sundowns striker, Leonardo Castro, via their social media channels.
The iconic Soweto giants warmly welcomed the Colombian forward with a heartfelt tweet, showcasing a photo of Castro alongside Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung.
“Welcome to the Amakhosi Family, Leonardo Castro #KCOneTeam #Amakhosi4Life,” the Chiefs declared.
This exciting move comes shortly after Mamelodi Sundowns initially announced the transfer during the weekend.
At 28 years old, Leonardo Castro brings valuable experience from his three seasons with the Brazilians, where he netted 15 goals across all competitions and contributed to winning both the domestic league and the CAF Champions League titles.
Fans can look forward to seeing Castro potentially debut for Steve Komphela’s side in an away clash against SuperSport United on 6 January.
