We’re genuinely chuffed with how the season has unfolded. Reaching the RAM SLAM final was a solid achievement, especially considering how several of our matches were impacted by rain. While we came up short in the final, the journey was inspiring.
At the moment, we’re deep into the Momentum One Day Cup, sitting strong with two wins out of three games and eyeing another spot in the finals to really make a push for silverware.
When it comes to the four-day games, we’re holding our own too. It’s been a tough season nationwide with only one outright result so far, but we’re optimistic for the second half – definitely in with a shout.
What was it like claiming your first hat-trick in the RAM SLAM T20? That must have been a career highlight!
Absolutely, it was my first hat-trick in Twenty20 cricket and a very special moment. The match was getting tense, so taking three wickets in a row helped us gain an edge, even though we ended up just missing out on the win off the last ball.
And hitting those two sixes off the last two balls against the Cobras on Wednesday – talk about clutch moments! You really stay close to the action.
It was fantastic to seal the win for the team. I was a bit frustrated that we let the game get so tight when we had it well in hand. Still, the balls I faced were perfect, and I’m glad I could help push the team over the line.
What’s the vibe like in the camp with all the travelling around the country?
The schedule’s hectic, no doubt, but the squad is brilliant. Everyone gets on well, and the team spirit is top-notch. We’re all laser-focused on lifting a trophy this season.
With five regular season Momentum One Day Cup matches left, which team are you most eager to beat?
Honestly, every team is a challenge we want to conquer. We take it one match at a time, focusing on the opponent in front of us. The main goal is to secure a spot in the qualifiers, hopefully with a home semi-final. It’s all about consistency.
How is the team preparing for the upcoming fixtures in the Momentum One Day Cup?
Training hard is key, but because of the tight schedule—playing one day, flying the next—we’ve had to balance training with proper rest to keep fresh and injury-free.
Any words for young cricketers climbing the ranks?
Work hard, train with dedication, never give up, and if you can, consider Westville Boys’ High School – it’s been great for me!
