The speedy MOGGIE BROWN may have been asked too much too soon when she faded in a recent feature over this course and distance, but she drops significantly in class tonight. She had a comfortable maiden win over JAZAALAH prior and this lightly raced daughter of Sail From Seattle promises plenty more. She’ll be at her best tonight with top jockey Lerena in the saddle. The latter was riding his debut when she took the first selection on but gained valuable experience leading to a maiden breakthrough next time out. Racing under the lights for the first time adds a new dimension to her chances.

The four-year-old TORRE DEL ORO capitalised on a strong pace to finish powerfully and beat a decent field at the Vaal three weeks ago. He appears to have dodged a heavy penalty and the son of Trippi has a solid record at this course and distance, making him a serious candidate to follow up his win. Trainer Tarry has this horse in great shape.
