Exciting news amidst the injury scare! Harry Kane’s injury isn’t as serious as initially feared by Tottenham Hotspur and England. Medical scans reveal damage to the lateral ligaments in his right ankle – but that’s set to keep him out for only a month.

According to the London club, early assessments confirm the England striker will be back in action quicker than expected.

This means Kane, the EPL’s top goalscorer so far this season with 35 goals, should be fully fit for England’s much-anticipated World Cup campaign.

The 24-year-old picked up the right ankle injury during a clash with Bournemouth’s goalkeeper Asmir Begovic. Sadly, he will miss Tottenham’s FA Cup quarter-final against Swansea City this Saturday and two upcoming friendlies for England.

Gareth Southgate’s squad will face the Netherlands on 23 March and Italy on 27 March, before kicking off their World Cup challenge against Tunisia on 18 June.

Kane has battled similar ankle injuries before – missing 10 games last season following a September 2016 injury at Sunderland and missing another four weeks in March 2017 after hurting the same ankle in an FA Cup quarter-final versus Millwall.
