Last night’s Kingsmead washout ensures that the Hollywoodbets Dolphins secured a place in Saturday’s Ram Slam T20 Challenge Final against the Titans.
Durban – Even though the semi-final between the Hollywoodbets Dolphins and the WSB Cape Cobras at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead on Thursday evening was called off due to weather, the Dolphins have proudly secured their place in Saturday’s RAM SLAM T20 Challenge final by virtue of their superior log position over the Cobras.
The Cape Town team arrived in Durban fully aware that only a win would guarantee them a spot in the grand final against the Multiply Titans at SuperSport Park in Centurion. However, the weather played spoilsport once again, marking the fourth interruption of this T20 season at Kingsmead, with not a single ball bowled.
Coming off two dominant performances during the weekend prior to the semi-final, the Dolphins were in the fortunate position of knowing they didn’t even need to take the field on Thursday to earn their place in the championship showdown this weekend.
The upcoming RAM SLAM final this Saturday will be a true test for the Durban men as they face off against a star-studded Titans side. Despite their victory over the Titans in the final round robin match, the Dolphins acknowledge the tough challenge awaiting them from the Protea-laden Titans squad.
The RAM SLAM T20 Challenge final takes place on Saturday, 16 December, at 14:30 at SuperSport Park Centurion.
