Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta has openly revealed the club’s keen interest in signing Emre Can once his contract with Liverpool runs out at the end of the season.
The German midfield maestro has featured in 18 matches for the Reds this season but is at liberty to negotiate with other clubs. Rumours of him joining the Italian giants have gained serious traction.
“Emre Can is a player whose contract is running down, so it allows us to approach him for negotiations and that is the course we have taken,” Marotta told Sky Sports Italia.
“I can’t say if he could sign a new contract with Liverpool, but I can say we will try all we can to get the player. Obviously, we have to respect what the player wants.”
