Multiply Titans Dominate to Claim Second RAM SLAM Title in Three Years | Hollywoodbets Sports Blog

Ruthless Titans trounce Dolphins in RAM SLAM final

A somewhat subdued batting effort from the Hollywoodbets Dolphins paved the way for the Multiply Titans to secure their second RAM SLAM title in just three years, clinching a seven-wicket victory at SuperSport Park, Centurion on a thrilling Saturday showdown.

The Titans, boasting a largely Protea-filled roster, won the crucial toss and opted to field first, immediately putting the Dolphins under pressure after the steadfast Morné van Wyk was dismissed cheaply for 6.

From there, wickets kept tumbling, with the Dolphins at a precarious 28/3 by the conclusion of the power play overs.

Dane Vilas tried to put up resistance, chipping in a gritty 21 runs before falling victim to a crafty delivery by Malusi Siboto, as the Titans’ dominant bowling star struck again.

Rob Frylinck’s dismissal in the same over deepened Dolphins’ woes.

Lower down the order, Andile Phehlukwayo was the lone beacon, contributing 21 runs, but the innings closely unravelled soon after he was caught out by AB de Villiers off the bowling of Chris Morris.

The Dolphins were bowled out with a paltry score of 100 in 18.5 overs.

Chris Morris was a standout for the Titans, claiming impressive figures of 4 wickets for just 13 runs in a tight three-and-a-half over spell.

During the Titans’ chase, Rivaldo Moonsamy fell early to Frylinck, raising the stakes for the team now chasing 101 to win.

Captain Khaya Zondo shone as he expertly removed the dangerous Quinton de Kock, who scored 39, leaving the Titans at 62/2 in the eighth over.

The duo of AB de Villiers and Aiden Markram edged the Titans close to the finish line, before de Villiers was caught out off Mthokozisi Shezi’s bowling for 27.

Markram joined forces with Farhaan Behardien to finish the chase confidently in the 12th over, securing another memorable T20 title for the Titans.

Looking ahead, the Dolphins now turn their attention to the 50-over format, gearing up for their Momentum One Day Cup campaign commencing on Thursday, 21 December, against the WSB Cape Cobras at the iconic Sahara Stadium Kingsmead.
