The Dolphins maintained their unbeaten stand, reaching 166 before the unfortunate run-out of Morné van Wyk, who scored a solid 58 off 216 deliveries.
Erwee then went on to complete his century in the 72nd over, having faced 210 balls, with the Dolphins still needing 71 runs to make the VKB Knights bat again.
With the weather worsening, bad light halted play early while Vaughn van Jaarsveld and Erwee were at the crease, taking the score to 187/1.
