Former Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher has been suspended by Sky Sports following a controversial incident involving a 14-year-old football fan.
It all went down just after Carragher left Old Trafford, where he was working for Sky Sports during the match. He was driving when a car kept tailing him, repeatedly sounding its hooter and reminding him of Liverpool’s 2-1 loss to Manchester United on 11 March.
The tension escalated after several encounters with the car, leading to Carragher rolling down his Range Rover window and spitting towards the vehicle. Unfortunately, the spittle landed on a young girl seated in the front passenger seat, who was just 14 years old.
Following the incident, Carragher promptly issued an apology both on Sky Sports and Twitter. Reports confirm he also contacted the family personally to apologise for his actions.
