On Friday, SA Rugby announced that they and Allister Coetzee have mutually agreed to part ways immediately.
Until the 2018 Springboks coaching and management team is finalised later this month, the Rugby Department of SA Rugby will oversee the role of the national team coach.
Coetzee and SA Rugby concluded their association after two years.
“Our priority was always to consider what is best for the Springboks,” stated Jurie Roux, CEO of SA Rugby.
“We thank Allister sincerely for his passion and commitment to the Springbok cause and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
Allister Coetzee remarked: “Springbok rugby has always been close to my heart and that will never change. I believe now is the right time for both the team and myself to seek new paths. I will continue to support Springbok rugby and wish it every success going forward.”
The confirmation of the Springbok management team is expected by the end of February.
