This six-furlong Pinnacle Stakes race is quite a challenge. The form from LUNAR RUSH over this course and distance on 24/09 could be the key. ISINGAMOYA showed great determination, narrowly losing in a fierce three-way battle along with three-year-old NEPTUNE’S RAIN, who was handicapped 3kg worse off. ISINGAMOYA seemed to need her comeback run on soft ground in late December and looks better suited here.
Race 7: SUN ON AFRICA (2)
Jockey: A Marcus – Trainer: D Bosch
Only seven runners line up in this race where a good pace is expected, which will favour SUN ON AFRICA, a Bosch-trained gelding who has already won once over this course and distance. He was edged out by former stablemate CELTIC CAPTAIN recently but now benefits from top-class jockey Marcus on board.
Race 8: ONE MOMENT IN TIME (13)
Jockey: G Wrogemann – Trainer: P Lafferty
ONE MOMENT IN TIME is highly rated by his stable. After an eye-catching debut over a mile here last month, he’s expected to improve with that experience and should enjoy stepping up in distance. He also benefits from a favourable draw today.
Race 2: TUNE OF ANGELS (10)
Jockey: G Wrogemann – Trainer: K Naidoo
TUNE OF ANGELS might have been hindered by blinkers in a recent below-par run behind subsequent winner Val-La-Ree. She showed promise on debut over this distance and could perform much better today without the headgear.
