Baroka FC has officially handed coach Kgoloko Thobejane his dismissal letter after he attended a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday, 6 March.
Thobejane was suspended last month following allegations that he was caught drinking alcohol on the team bus alongside some senior players and staff members.
In connection with the incident, the club also terminated the contracts of club captain Oleleng Shaku and Puskas Award nominee Oscarine Masuluke last week. Notably, Thobejane failed to attend the initial hearing last week, which worsened his standing.
Despite the unfortunate end, fans will always remember Coach Thobejane warmly for leading Baroka to promotion into the PSL and ensuring their survival in the top flight the following season.
Additionally, goalkeeper coach Tshegofatso Machoene, who was part of the Multichoice Diski Challenge side, was also let go, along with kit manager Delbert Lekoana.
MacDonald Makhubedu, who joined as an assistant coach from Acornbush United, has been managing the team over the past few weeks and will remain in charge until further notice.
