AS Monaco’s vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has firmly stated that Thomas Lemar will not be moving clubs this January transfer window.
Interest from Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool to snap up the French international winger before the transfer deadline is strong. However, no matter the size of the offers, Monaco remains steadfast in their decision to keep their star player for the season.
Vasilyev remarked to RMC,
“He will stay at Monaco until the end of the season at 100 per cent. If Liverpool or Arsenal come with a big offer before the end of the market? This is not relevant. We will say no because the objectives are clear. Without important players like Lemar, we will not succeed.”
Lemar, who joined Monaco from SM Caen in 2015, has been an influential figure, notching up 22 goals and 27 assists in 112 appearances across all competitions for the club.
